Medicare Reimbursement for The Spanner™
Medicare approval for The Spanner has been established in South Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia. The 2008 Physician Fee Schedules for CPT Code 0084T (insertion of a temporary prostatic urethral stent) are as follows:
- South Carolina: $729.80
- Ohio: $736.13
- West Virginia: $733.32
When submitting claims for CPT code 0084T to Medicare:
- Secure a signed Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) (PDF)
- Submit claim using CPT Code 0084T and any appropriate modifiers
- Appeal denied claims through the Medicare appeals process
